These bells were made by blacksmiths in two of the villages in Hamana where the doundouns traditionally come from. The blacksmiths are the traditional makers of the drums for the village, and in this case, are also the players of these villages. Due to the size and weight of these bells, they are suitable only for outside and very large rooms or concert halls, and for studio recording.
