These smaller djembes are made from the Melina
wood normally used for doundouns. This wood is much lighter than
lenke and
dialla, and therefore more suitable for a child to make his/her beginning with the djembe. The instruments are assembled with the same attention to detail as every other at djembemoves, but the wood used (and its size) will not give the same quality of sound as the professional djembes you find
here.
